Bariatric Pre-Surgery Evaluation
The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery recommends a psychological evaluation pre-surgery, and many surgeons require this. The evaluation also gives you an opportunity to identify factors in your life that will help you be successful after surgery with your goals, and factors that may be a barrier to you reaching your goals. It's a chance to pause, take stock and make sure you can be as successful as possible.
The evaluation
I have extensive experience completing pre-surgical evaluations and writing reports for clearance. I also trained at the Penn's bariatric surgery and weight center. I complete all necessary assessment procedures, write the report, and communicate with your surgeon to make the process as seamless as possible. Most assessments take 1-3 hours depending on your history and requested assessment procedures. I complete all reports and communicate with your doctor within one week of completing the assessments. The cost is $700, which includes all aspects of the pre-surgical evaluation.
